Kate Banford is a comedy producer and loves all things comedy. Which I probably didn’t have to say that if she’s a comedy producer.
Kate is the Executive Director of The Elysian and formerly the co-founder and owner of Good Good Comedy Theatre in Philly.
Over at Good Good comedy, it was an award winning comedy theatre that is known for curating original shows and breaking new talent. My favorites she had there were Jaboukie Young-White, Julio Torres, and Aparna Nancherla.
Kate produced and directed the music video “Hysterical” by Sad13.
Kate Banford recently opened The Elysian which is a non profit 501(c)3 theater that presents unconventional, unforgettable live comedy in Frogtown, Los Angeles. She has already booked shows and it’s only going to get bigger.

I need to stop acting like this is late night when I introduce my guests. Like you’re coming down to the stage or something.
Last time we hung out we went to a comedy show that was in someones backyard in Los Angeles. All heavy hitters.

How did you guys come up with the logo for The Elysian?
I love that the marquee says “The Hollywood Sign”
I’m not sure what it says now but before it said “Forget Spaghetti?”

Constructed in 1927 (really long time ago), the 97-seat theater once served as a movie venue by the same name. Today, The Elysian serves to support weirdo comedy, showcase budding talent and continue to grow the city’s independent comedy scene. We also sell snacks and drinks…it’s called having range.
Did you write all this?
One of the shows you have booked is “Friends and Gay Shit” and one is coming up with Jason Mraz. Is Jason Mraz gay?
Just found out about Very Gay Paint and it includes Jenson Titus and Very Gay Clown which has a name Nicholous Scheppard.
Jenson is killing it. I rememebr when he used to work at El Vez.
El Super Show is a pretty stacked show with Witmer Thomas, Jak Knight, Rachel Sennott, and Annie Donley.
