Hey everyone it’s Rashad and this is Wear Many Hats presented by Dahsar where we talk about your main gig then we talk about your side hustle.

Dwight Pendleton is a Composer, Producer, and Artist.

He has composed music for High Snob, Hypebeast, Coach, Calvin Klein, Foo and Foo, Jaguar, and Flaunt.

Although he makes music for commercials and fashion, he also makes music under the moniker, Kai Neptune.

Now let me tell you about Kai Neptune. Back on my A&R tip, and discovering new music on the fly. Kai Neptune was on my radar that is just astonishing and atmospheric. This is the music I’ve been wanting to hear that’s for the future of what is to come.

Kai Neptune put out a new project entitled “4EVR” and it’s definitely a project we’ll be listening to forever for sure.

This is The first Dwight I’ve ever met in person. Pendleton no flannel. Lets go to space with Kai Neptune.

Please welcome to Wear Many Hats, Dwight Pendleton.

How’s it going Dwight?

Where are you based?

We’re neighbors sort of. Right now I’m in LA but this is suitable for everything when it comes to music.

Are you ever out in LA when you have to make beats production for a brand or anyone as such?

What color is your hair right? I know you been out here dyeing it different colors. It’s like the new thing everyone’s been doing. Yo has anyone ever told you you look like Omar Apollo’s little brother hahaha.

Whoever’s doing the creative direction on your IG. You’re aesthetic is nice. You should have opened up for Deb Never when she was in town.

Your fits be on point, who makes your jewelry? Shout out some names.

that CAZSO jewelry on point

Dwight Pendleton:

You’ve obviously made music for commercials and a bunch of big ass fashion brands. You wear Foo and Foo?

When did you start making music?

Kai Neptune:

Congrats on the new record “4EVR” it’s absolutely brilliant. I know I sound British but I just saw James Blake the other day.

It’s so good. Notable tracks for sure are “FIND U THERE” with that outro, but honestly all tracks are fire for sure.

I definitely feel like I’m in space, just zoning out, thinking about what the fuck I’m doing with my life, relationships, whether or not I’m stressing out on something. Lots of feeling. But this is like next level R&B but just thinking about life in a way that doesn’t sound too cliche.

It’s perfect for just that LA lifestyle honestly. If I listen to this in NYC, I feel like I’m going to def miss the train. Zone out even when I do catch it.

What do you think about when you make your music?

How do you come up with your lyrics? You got a bae in your life you write about her? “In My Heart” the sounds you got going in the background is nice.

“Safe” with them pop guitars in the intro and outdo. Yo stop me if I’m wrong I feel like I’ talking out of my ass but this is what I hear. This is my daily stroll while I’m out here in LA.

You ain’t going full on Majid Jordan on us hahaha.

You tryna do a tour of this music and playing and shows? You’re not a DJ are you? If there’s gonna be a remix album who could you see doing remixes? I see a DOSS remix in your future. Toro Y Moi remix def.

I checked out your main Inspo on Spotify. You site local legends who are blowing up such as Junior Varsity. That Social Cues track that is different than anything Tees Touchdown puts out.

Themes: You wrote that “All the love you’ve given” “dusk” re all about songs about your journey through faith, joy, hope, doubt and emotions thru life.

Then you go all religion on us. Man of God.

Hats off to you and everything that you do, for some Dahsar Wear Many Hats solutions, would you ever collab with…
