Hey everyone it’s Rashad and this is Wear Many Hats presented by Dahsar where we talk about your main gig then we talk about your side hustle.

Sydney Gore is a writer and Digital Design Editor.

She believes in writing something worth reading about and doing something worth writing about.

Sydney is the Digital Design Editor for Architectural Digest.

She has also written articles for Byrdie, Highsnob, VOX, Atmos, W Magazine, The Strategist, Teen Vogue, Vogue, The New York Times

She has a newsletter called Bloated by Thoughts. Her intent is to hold space for discourse that shifts the culture forward.

She has a moodboard which she calls a Decor Dump called Spoiled Goods.

I feel like I’m about to be spoiled and bloated. Well not bloated.

Welcome to have Sydney Gore on Wear Many Hats.

Where are you based right now?

I’m currently lighting incense and candles and sitting on a nice chair for you while we pod. All up your alley.

I sound like I’m about to interview you but I’m not a journalist by any means. Everyone that comes on the podcast. Is like thank you for interviewing me on your podcast.

I’m like I want you on because your special and you’ve got so many amazing talents besides writing. You’ve got an eye for so many things other than writing. I’ve read the countless of articles you’ve put out from like trap gardening to Pantones Color of the year. You’ve got knowledge about every different pocket of the world and I envy that.

What do you not cover? Besides red wing politics.

I was telling a good friend of mine the other day about how English and writing majors are like so hot right now along with Art History majors, still don’t know what the fuck Poitical Science majors do but you guys can literally be whatever you want to be because you have so much information about anything.

Writers are brand consultants. Tell anyone what to do because you hold them secrets.

Like your dinner parties are probably so much fun aren’t they?

What do you guys talk about?

I just read a tweet of yours that says “shooting a reel is so much harder than it looks, i take back every dismissive thing i’ve ever said about content creators”

Me too. I just came back from the land of content creators aka LA and you see Tik Tokers and reelers at every corner.

Writing:

You write a ton of articles because your passionate about raising awareness around food sovereignty, disability justice, environmental justice, and BIPOC reclaiming the outdoors please never stop. Keep that energy going!

You write about drugs too well nothing hard but you know the occasional THC, CBD, shrooms, do you partake?

What’s your daily routine? What do you do for self care?

How do you have the time to also do research to add content on your moodboards?

Hats off

Hats off to you and everything that you do, for some Dahsar Wear Many Hats solutions, I enjoyed having you on the podcast. As an asian American covering people’s stories of all types of backgrounds and maybe one or 2 white people I hope you write about us someday for The New York Times or Vogue or Architecture Digest as not a brocast but a podcast for everyone and every creative.

Ending

If you were to get a chest tattoo quote in olde english what would it be?

Plug your socials where can people find you?

Till next time this is Wear Many Hats presented by Dahsar and I’m Rashad Peace!
