Hey everyone it’s Rashad and this is Wear Many Hats presented by Dahsar where we talk about your main gig then we talk about your side hustle.
Aaron Ramey is a multidisciplinary artist, creative director, visual artist, and costume designer.
He and Gianni Lee have a clothing brand called Babylon Cartel that puts out prints way before our time on t-shirts, jerseys, denim jackets, camo jackets, that are worn by Rihanna and Young Thug.
Aaron worked on the costume team for the films See You Yesterday and Judas and the Black Messiah.
Also as a photographer, he’s also been commissioned by brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Red Bull to produce campaigns for digital and social media platforms.
Aaron now has his own practice where he releases products, exclusive designs, and does collaborative projects over at A Universe.

What’s up?
Where are you based? Another Philly homie. I remember well sorta remember all the Babylon Cartel parties.
I love the new design you did for the Big Clean Up Philly. The Big Philly Clean Up was created after meeting of the minds.
I love that you go back from time to time and beautify the neighborhood. I know Tierra Whack has came out to help, everyone comes out and lends a hand which is amazing part of Philly.
Costume Design
What got you into costume design?
The week Judas and the Black Messiah came out, I saw that you also worked as a costume designer in the movie. How did that came about?
Babylon Cartel
After years of pushing Babylon, you and Gianni have been doing your own thing and honestly have both killed it separately.
Why the break? With all that success with Ri Ri and Thug.
If you were to come back together strong what would you guys do?
A Universe
With A Universe, you’ve been putting out Bespoke 1 off sweaters, modular patchwork denim jacket, and the now infamous patchwork
The patchwork denim jacket is so good with the 9 velcro patches that you feature with your own original artwork. You have the signature A Universe logo.
You dropped the WAR Modular truckers dropped on Basic Space.
