Hey everyone it’s Rashad and this is Wear Many Hats presented by Dahsar where we talk about your main gig then we talk about your side hustle.

Zoe Rayn is the founder and creative director of Caldera Magazine, a magazine and multimedia platform dedicated to championing the voices of artists and creatives from bipoc and queer communities. Founded in 2018, based in Philadelphia.

Zoe also works with collaborative programs at the Penn Museum and programs at The Rail Park.

People ask me if I’m a New Yorker, I’m not, I’m still Philly all the way specifically Delco. This is my way of keeping in touch with Philly. Zoe you keep Philly in check.

The Hole Left Behind.

Please welcome Zoe Rayn.

Caldera

I first heard of Caldera because one of my good friends, Nick Schon, is the special projects editor for you guys and they played in a band with me when I was in Philly and now produces music for me and my projects. They’re super talented.

I loved the interview he did with one of my favorite authors Hanif Abdurraqib.

One year later but we’re very excited that the new issue, issue 6 of Caldera is about to come out featuring one of our favorites, Jon Key and Dahsar and Commercial Type will be featured as well interviewed by the lovely Nick Schon.

Jon Key is amazing type designer. Works with Christian Schwartz and the team over at Commercial Type.

You guys showcase and feature talented artists and people in their craft. How do you find them?

You guys closely work with Pink Essay here and there and when we started back up this podcast, we interviewed Pink Essay to dip our toes back in. How did you guys collaborate together?

Architecture Digest x Clever

I love that our worlds intersect with Lichen, Pink Essay, Yowie and many more and if I lived in Philly I would have totally met you in person because we share similar interests. I recently read your interview on Architectural Digest’s Clever series where they interviewed you in your new home with the updated kitchen but I love that on your IG you post updates of you painting and restoring pieces of the house you’re in.

You guys have a beautiful home! I love the Noguchi lamp, everyone should have one in their home.

The giant black dice that you guys scored from Jinxed is so sick. I used to live by Jinxed in Fishtown and would pop in everyday. I used to think La Colombe coffee was amazing. Glad I’ve moved on from that.

Penn Museum & The Rail Park

At the Penn Museum and at The Rail Park you work on programs I’ve never been to The Rail Park, even when it was just a part of urban exploration. I remember bands going up there to take promo photos. What programs have you’ve been putting on?

Hats OFF

Hats off to you on all these things that you do, for some Wear Many Hats Dahsar solutions we’re so excited to be in the newest issue of Caldera featuring our collaborators Commercial Type. We would love to produce and partner with Caldera as many ways as we can. When events start happening would Caldera ever do a Caldera Magazine panel with guest speakers?

Ending

If you were to get a chest tattoo quote in olde english what would it be?

Plug your socials where can people find you?

Till next time this is Wear Many Hats presented by Dahsar and I’m Rashad Peace!
