Hey everyone it’s Rashad and this is Wear Many Hats presented by DAHSAR where we talk about your main gig then we talk about your side hustle.

If I were to tell my high school self right now that I would have Nick Thune on the podcast, he would be like, what the hell is a podcast?

I never watched cartoons before going to school, only Comedy Central Presents stand up shows at 7am and Nick Thune was my all time fav. Having the guitar played in with his sets was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen mind you I was going thru a weird singer songwriter phase

In 2008, the instant classic instant messenger love song hits hard.

First time I ever joined a comedian newsletter and the title was Eye Thune. RIP to Itunes obviously.

First time I ever saw Nick Thune perform live was at Johnny Brenda’s in Fishtown, Philly with the all funny Kate Berlant andl Ben Kronberg and it was a night to remember. Laced Nick Thune up with some DAHSAR gear. Also a few years later at The Bell Tower in Gowanus, Brooklyn to lace him with more DAHSAR gear but not with Damien Jurado during their Sad Music, Sad Comedy tour which would have been so up my alley because those two genres are what I’m about.

Sad Music, Sad Comedy, Sad Podcast episode, just playin.

Nick Thune has put out comedy specials such as Thick Noon, Folk Hero, and Good Guy. He’s in your favorite movies such as Knocked Up, Extract, Mr. Roosevelt, and Venom. He’s in HBO MAX’s Love Life and now starred in the movie The Right One out now.

It’s currently High Noon, he’s good friends with Usher.

Stoked to have him on Wear Many Hats here is, Nick Thune.

Movies & TV

Congrats on the new movie The Right One. It wasn’t for me but I do like a feel good film. Did enjoy you as Allie Cornbush. I feel like you wrote “How To Be Alone”

Have you ever written other songs before besides comedy?

DJ Ketamine is def a vibe. Have you ever done Special K before?

You’re like a rom com guy now aren’t ya.

Love Life — You look like a Magnus Lund. Freakin big dude compared to Darby. Art school, reinvent himself, have you ever lived in NYC?

Tattoos

Let’s talk about your tattoos — scott campbell?

Father

I see that you guys have been doing pandemic right, been travelling everywhere in LA

You’re such a great dad, playing in that band and having your kid as the guitar playing a solo, hilarious very wholesome.

You let your kid tattoo you with Scott Cambell.

Any tips for dads out there?

Comedy

What kind of guitar do you play in your standups? What do you own currently? DO you sometimes play the electric guitar out? I think I saw an SG in one of your shows.

I see a Gibson Songbird in your latest stand up on Jimmy Kimmel and its mostly dad jokes but they’re really good. I love how you open and close with a spin turn motion. The loafers and blazer look absolutely amazing by Rose Cut embroidery

You’ve played the legendary Comedy Cellar, The Largo, where would you want to play next?

I loved the series of address letter set mini comedy stand up clips you put up such as the sudoku, and my favorite, Bloody Nose joke, so good. I hope you put more of those series back up again.

Any new specials in the mix?

Music

What are you currently listening to?

Do you make your own music that’s not comedy?

How we end the podcast isIf you were to get a chest tattoo quote in olde english what would it be?

Plug your socials where can people find you?

Till next time this is Wear Many Hats presented by Dahsar with your host Rashad. Peace!
