Matt Trigaux is an LA based Creative Marketer who likes the messiness of making things.

Basically he likes to get down and dirty with clients.

I know Matt from Philadelphia who opened up an art gallery clothing boutique called TrickGo. It was for the likes of Johnny Cupcakes but had streetwear sensibilities like the old Reason and Pedestrian.

He also assisted in founding a motorcycle shop in Philadelphia as well which brought him into the wonderful world of motorsports and the automotive industry in order to tell stories and connect with new audiences.

You threw some of the best parties ever at TrickGo having gallery openings for artists such as NoseGo and Scott Albrecht and sold the best merch as well with Upper Playground and ESPO. The wreath with the van logo was a classic logo and when you saw people on the street with it you know what it is.

Do you miss it?

I saw on your gram a post of LL Cool J’s Radio off of Def Jam, produced by jazzy jay and Rick Rubin and you wrote that Rick Rubin was running all of def jam out of his dorm room at NYU using their mail room as it’s fulfillment center without the school knowing.

You basically ran your clothing company out of your UArts dorm room and routinely had 400lbs worth of t shirts show up at the mail room, I fuck heavily with this.

So do you feel like Rick Rubin?

How did you get into working out of the motorcycle and automobile world?

How do you stay relevant?

I think when you go to trade shows to sell your brand that’s when you lose your credibility, our originality because you start feeding off of everyone else, trying so hard to be in stores you don’t even care about.
