Wear Many Hats Episode 137 — Jason Crombie
Hey everyone it’s Rashad and this is Wear Many Hats presented by Dahsar where we talk about your main gig then we talk about your side hustle.
Jason Crombie is a writer and the Editor in Chief for Monster Children.
I’ve been reading Monster Children for years whether it was for skateboarding, art, music, cars, girls, not porn, travel, design, photography, the list goes on.
I have a stack of Monster Children in my USM Haller. No flex. Not porn.
In 2003, Jason created the magazine Wooooo that featured Thurston Moore, Mark Gonzales, Zach Galifianakis, James Dean’s roommate, and Michelle Williams, among other lesser-known individuals which would probably feature me at some point.
Wooooo established Jason as someone able to conduct interviews and cobble sentences together, which resulted in real writing work. Then more work.
My favorite part of his bio is:
Jason mentions that he was able to quit his job at the dildo factory and begin living the frightening and unpredictable life of a freelance scribe.
So that means I no longer work at the dildo factory as well.
Jason contributed features and interviews to publications such as ID, Vice, Saturdays, Fantastic Man, V Magazine, and more.
Jason also provided creative direction and copy for many brands, including Nike, Adidas, Canon, Vans, Burton, and Budweiser.
In 2012, Jason became Editor in Chief of Monster Children magazine. Turns out he has been working on a non-fiction novel since 2017.
This is one of the moments where I’ve known about Jason’s work for years but never really mentioned it to anybody because nobody asks.
I used to steal Monster Children’s at Barnes and Noble but now I can afford them. Not a flex. Not porn.
Please welcome Jason Crombie to Wear Many Hats.
How long have you been living in Sydney? Clearly you surf or am I assuming?

Hats off
Hats off to you and everything that you do, for some Dahsar Wear Many Hats solutions, would you think that the Wear Many Hats podcast is in the ballpark for Monster Children? When this episode comes out would you cover it and feature it in Monster Children?
I read the post of there being a Daniel Johnston inspired podcast called “Hi, How are you.” Podcast. I feel like we touched up on Mental Health today.
