Wear Many Hats Episode 106 — Liam Benzvi

Hey everyone it’s Rashad and this is Wear Many Hats presented by Dahsar where we talk about your main gig then we talk about your side hustle.

Liam Benzvi is a singer-songwriter and composer that I can’t stop playing on repeat.

I’m not sure if its changing of the seasons or I feel liberated while riding very fast in the new citi e bikes to his music.

I first heard of Liam through Luca Venter, a photographer I’m deeply into. I loved their collaborative photos for Buds Digest and thought, I know what Luca does, but what does Liam do. Glad I found out.

Liam released his catchy new record, “Acts of Service” out on Terrible Records and its straight hits.

It’s either I’m listening to Liam or Harry Styles.

Soul seeking. Yearning. Longing. Crisp.

Please welcome Liam Benzvi to Wear Many Hats.

I was telling my friend I was having Liam Benzvi on the podcast and she was like “Oh the Limes guy or Lemons because he gives lemons right?”

I listened to “Opal” again in 2022 and I remember listening to it in 2019. I can’t believe it was the same person. I didn’t put two and two together. The Sax at the end ripped.

I didn’t know “Opal” was on High Maintenance too. That’s legendary. Amazing show and amazing track. Was that the first time your music was on a TV show?

You just played a show recently and had friend and guest of the pod, Starchild on stage with you. Small world.

I read the Interview Magazine interview with Rufus Wainwright. I love that you used Cameo to get in touch with him. I know titles are a drag as well when I read that in the interview.

Music

I went back and listened to your Amnesia, USA — EP and it sounds very crisp. Different from “Acts of Service”

You punching the punching Bag in the “Hiccup” video is definitely how they fight in boxing.

New record is so good. From top to bottom.

How do you write all the lyrics. Do you write them at the park, train, in your room?

I love “No Hard Feelings” though thats my anthem. That song goes in.

Hats off

Hats off to you and everything that you do, for some Dahsar Wear Many Hats solutions, would you like to keep making songs for commercials, shows etc.

Ending

If you were to get a chest tattoo quote what would it be?

Plug your socials where can people find you?

Till next time this is Wear Many Hats presented by Dahsar and I’m Rashad Peace!
